Much better spark anyway. Unless you can find an igniter for real cheap I got my 6A model on jegs.com for only 140 I think. Make sure you know what it is first. It think the pickup in the distributor is more likely to fail.. It's a VR sensor, if I recall correctly and you can test it on the truck or by pulling the distributor. You can't use an MSD in place of the ignitor on the EFI trucks.. The output of the ECU is square wave (4-5v) which has to be "translated" into when to fire the coil.
