Getting the Wheeling Fever
what are some good shocks to have on my lifted 85 yota. i have marlin craler springs so the need to be able to handle flex. also they need to be handle a little weight in the back such as some friends hangin out in the bed when out wheelin.


1985 yota 22RJasper motor w/ cam,webber carb.Marlin histeer & 4"springs, AllPro jonny jointshackles. Bds yj springs upfront. Bilstein 5150's all around. 4.88 yukon gears,detroit locker and truetrac. Fj80 Master cylinder, 33" MTR's

I like the Rancho RS9000s. It is great to be able to fine tune your shocks to the perfect setting. It's also nice to be able to stiffen them when you are carrying a heavy load.

You would have to measure your shock lengths and order the right lengths.


1989 reg cab pickup, 22re, 31s, 4.56s, rear ARB, rear OME springs, RS9000s, otherwise stock.

The length of the shock is what it needs to handle flex, all shocks that are long enough are capable. Bilsteins (the ones Marlin sells) are very popular. BBCS shocks from PolyPerformance are often considered the best available for wheeling with leaf springs as they are specifically tuned for that application. My friend has the RS9000's and I don't like em too much but some people do so who knows.
