Getting the Wheeling Fever
Guys, have any of you played with disconnecting the sway bars for more articulation?

I went out today with my Nephew (2000 XJ) and I realize the Monty will never be able to articulate like the live axle Cherokee, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience...

Thanks,
Mark

Body Damage is Cool
I believe icysyrup has his rear one removed. It would certainly improve articulation which actually not all that bad if you compare absolute values. At least on stock vehicles. Live axles is certainly easier to modify.

Yup def helps to have front and rear swaybars off....every little bit you can gain helps with IFS/IRS.....i noticed a def difference on the same obstacle with them off it was much easier....Plus onroad driving isnt that bad...now that its wintertime I am putting the front back on, it will come back off in the spring...and the rear is gonna stay off indefinately... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Cool, thanks.

Did you completely remove the bars are just "disconnect" them.

If you left them in place how did you hold the bar(s) up out of harms way?

Its pretty easy to just take em all the way off...not hard at all. The way the susp is set up i thought it would be harder to find a way to keep them tied up than to just remove 4 easy bolts and take em off...
