all right. i got a new question. my trucks idle has gone crazy. ill fire it up, and it will do the normal high idle to warm up. thats about where the normalcy ends. the idle varies anywhere from 600 rpms to 1200 rpms. before this started, i pulled off the throttle body and cleaned it, and im not sure if this could be what caused it. since then, i have checked the adjustment on the tps, and checked the throttle body over. any ideas?

Yeah, I agree with EB, I'd wager your coolant level is affecting your IAC and thus causing your idle to fluctuate.

coolant level is fine. is the IAC the Idle Air Controller?

IAC is the idle air control valve. Basically it's a valve mounted onj the throttle body that lets extra air bypass the throttle plate until the engine warms up. It's usually controlled by a thermo sensor.

Did you use a new gasket, are all nuts and bolts tightened, did you accidently pull the air intake hose loose somewhere before the tb?When they say check the coolant, you need to have the front of the truck raised up with the rad cap off, heater on,and run the motor.Watch for air escaping from rad.Good luck, hope you solve your problem!
