Getting the Wheeling Fever
To all those who contributed to my "Cold start problem" posting begining in about Jul or so, I say thanks.
I ended up buying a new AFM ($761) from Toy and it seemed to solve most of the problem. I also installed new rotor and distributor caps per a suggestion, but I could not detect any difference. Some additional testing remains to be done.
This brings me to the purpose of this posting. I have this old AFM and if it has a value to someone out there, it is free for the asking.
The AFM test results failed only the E2 - Vs test, giving me varied readings from 1xxx-2xxx ohms to infinity. The varied results came from multiple tests.
First come, first served. Or, to the best offer if it has value.
One can pick it up in Escalon, CA, or Sunnyvale, CA, or if shipping is required, send me a shipping label. I am not on this site every day so be patient, I, like 'Granny,' am old and slow, but thorough.

Happy to hear it did something to fix the trouble.

I've got a spare also.. ask around b4 buying high dollar parts like AFMs & ignitors.

700 is nutty!

Glad it's fixed.. hope it lasts another 20 years.

I guess I can now safely trash my old AFM. From the comments it sound like the shortage is over.
Tks for the comments.
