Getting the Wheeling Fever
just rolled 200,000 on the trooper and you can really tell with the engine. It still runs pretty good but it doesnt have much power (as if it did when it was new) and it leaks oil pretty good too. When I come to a stop the oil pressure goes to 0 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />.

was thinking of putting in a 4.3 but I dont think I want to mess with that really. I think I am just going to put a 2.8 back in it, but was wondering if the 4.3 vortec fuel injection system will work on it and if there is some other upgrades too it I can do.

Since you've got the 2.8 in there, why not upgrade to a 3.4? Almost bolt in. Use the same accessories, intake, wiring fuel system as your 2.8 does. If you really wanted to get adventurous, you could try to leave the camaro intake on and all that and rewire and upgrade the fuel system.

I'd say go with the 3.4 if you're gonna put another engine in. Best bang for buck I think. You get the extra horse power with the ease of "drop in" (minus a few things, ie starter). 2.8 you've still got a pretty gutless engine. With the 4.3 or any other, you're looking at a full on drivetrain swap.

^ Ditto what Richard said. The 3.4 swap rocks, GM should have made the 60* v6 a 3.4 from the beginning.
