Dealer service schedule or Toyota's? #772165 12/14/06 07:26 PM

My Toyota dealer has a nice service schedule posted up on their wall. For my 88 Suburban I bet that service schedule would have been great. 19 years later, I know we've made some progress and my Toyota brochure / maintenance schedule doesn't include the VAST majority of this service ($600 30,000 service, for example).

I imagine I should go with my vehicle service schedule-is there ANY reason not to do so?

No, stick with what you know makes sense. However, don't under estimate what the dealer might charge you to do the 30K service <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
We posted an article to help owners save $ by doing the service themselves. Check it out here: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/maintenance/tacoma_4runner_30k/

The 4.0l is a different animal, it seems, though of course common sense should be used. I'll have to get underneath and take some pictures with the digicam and get some info posted. I didn't note a double-cardan joint but I'll look again to be sure.
