<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />Yep,that's right,I've had times when I didn't feel like getting out to bash the starter.I'd push the clutch cancel switch and the truck would crank.You're right about rebuilt starters being junk.That's why I took the one I have now apart.The contacts and plunger were in perfect condition.The reason I say the cancel switch is part of the problem is this,the truck won't start unless the clutch is pushed in.If the switch is old it could suffer from the same problems as a starter.Not making good contact,which wouldn't allow enough voltage to the starter,thus the starter freezes up.Then you whack the starter to free it up.Bang,it turns right over.Sure,I'm no certified mechanic,but if any little tidbit of info might help someone out,I'm gonna post it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
