Hey don't feel too bad, I've seen the upper control arms installed upside down (and swapped side for side).

Your experience about the ride being better is typical: this is a good lift kit!

Geez, $90 for an alignment? Ouch!

On the 1st page, 3rd pic from the bottom, inner CV boot. Looks to be a bit bound up-is this normal / OK? Not trying to pick at your (xlnt, btw) rig-just wondering....?

Change your oil hot and often.

Yeah- both sides are actually like that and I'm not exactly sure why. It seems like there is a vacuum in there because the angle doesn't look too drastic. I rotated the wheels while it was jacked up (by frame rails) and I don't feel it binding. Maybe thats why All Pro offers the extended CV boot. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I'll work on an "expanded" install instruction to post.

I would like what is the type of front bumper you have. I like the look from the side. Where did you get it?

AVGJOE: I like the look of your lift, and am thinking about doing the same to my truck.

For what it's worth I couldn't help but notice that your Taco has the same problem I experienced -- the TRD Fender Flares eventually turn light gray due to sun fading (mine were almost white). I suspect that almost everyone eventually will have this problem (funny the pads on the rear bumper don't fade, but the flares do...?!).

Nothing I tried on my Taco would keep the flares looking black for more than a few days until I ran across a product called "Forever Black." It comes in an applicator bottle not unlike liquid shoe polish, and is a ***** to get on the flares in an even coat (it dries real fast if you're working in the sun), but once on, will make your flares look better than they did new as far as color -- they will look the color of the end of your bumper.

I guess you could take them off and paint them, or have them painted, but not worth the hassle compared to a $15 Forever Black kit and a couple of hours.

I checked with the stealer, and a new set of flares will run about $800.00 list -- I would have left them white before laying out that much green. I've had mine out in the sun for several months now, and multiple washings, and they still look great.

That is one beef I have with car stuff. I might need wider flares to get inspected when I get new rims soon. There are not any flares for less than about $300, what the ***** gives? They are 4 pieces of plastic, how can they cost that damn much. Well anyway, it just really frustrates me, if you ever want to giv eup those TRD flares just let me know, I just have the 98 SR5 ones.

The front bumper is from ARB and there's a Warn M8000 in there. Installing that thing is definitely a two man job and it will MAKE you lift the truck. Kind of a money pit, but it makes me happy. Thanks for the info on the flare job- I pretty much gave up on those things, but I'll have to try that stuff out.

On my days off, I will post my version of the front suspension install instructions. So far, there's more detail than I thought.

Campus is getting $65.00...

Aren't you glad you're cutting all the IFS off now?

And a co-worker just told me Bell Toyota is quoting $79, so I told him to go to Campus. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
