Just wanna do a little survey to those who use spacers up front to get a bit of Lift. Would you Prefer Poly or Aluminum?

Well, do you mean in the coil or out of the coil spacers. Depending on that will likely affect which material you will be working with. There are a lot of spacer set ups. Personally I have an aluminum above the coil spacer that has worked fine so far.

ya above the coil. ive herd that the poly breaks quicker but the aluminum is a rougher ride. what do you think of the ride qulity with teh aluminum?

I would think that the in the coil would give a stiffer ride since it preloads the front suspension so it is already compressed. I think it rides about the same, it just pushes the strut tower down and keep the same characteristics except CV angles and such which would change with poly spacers too.

I recentley installed the aluminum spacer on top of the
coil/strut. Rides the same as before, only higher.

I can't say I'm up to date on everything that's available now, but I hope someone is NOT offering a poly spacer above the coilover

I would hope not as well. I am pretty sure they only have the aluminum spacers for above the coil.

Take your lunch to work for a while and save up to buy new coilovers. You will definitely be MUCH happier with the end result .

Not sure of who makes it but I just took a poly lift off my 2000.

It had approx. 1" poly block in the strut and a 1" block above the strut. They pressed out the origional studs and pressed in longer ones so that they would run all the way through the spacer. Combine that with 3" blocks in the back...... SCARY.

I bought the truck from a friend and I know that he purchased the lift....

I did not want a lifted truck so I replaced the whole mess with a new set of Bilsteins. Rides a lot better stock. However, the struts that I removed were shot so that could be part of the problem.

I am new to the Taco forum but not new to the wire. I used to have a 1992 Ext Cab. In fact, I think my signature needs to be updated.

Aluminum here. They ride the same but my 3 inch add-a-leafs are rough.
