Can any one help me out with this I am looking for a rear end to put under my 95 YJ (current one is eating bearings and at 3.07 not worth keeping. Would like to know what other rear ends measure out close (like the exploder 8.8 is just a little smaller). All help appreciated.

I think the sploder 8.8 is bout maybe 1-1/2 inches wider on both sides.. I doubt you will find one with a 3.07 however..
You may have to regear the front end to match the rear if you do get another rear that is not matching your front.
It is a lot of work and expense to change rearends.. Maybe you would like it better to find one just like yours..

The Ford Explorer 8.8 is the way to go for an axle swap. It's about 5/8" narrower per side than the YJ axle and has the YJ bolt pattern. Find one from a '95 or later so it'll have disc brakes and 31 spline axles. They come with 3:73 or 4:10 gears and some have limited slip.

You'll have to convert the drive shaft from the flange style to the jeep yoke. You'll also need to adapt the Ford brake lines to the jeep and adapt the e-brake.

Several different companies make kits to adapt the Explorer rearend to the Wrangler (Rubicon Express, Teraflex,M.O.R.E.) .
