Any body know were to find john baker torsion bars and how much lift over stock will these give me. are they stiffer

IIRC, I heard they are nothing more than Sway Away torsion bars.

Australia is the other place that makes torsion bars. They are available from companies like ARB and Iron Man Suspensions. Not sure if the Aussie ones are made by the same Aussie company and just sold by 2 vendors or if they are actually made by 2 manufacturers.

Your stock torsion bars will lift you all the way to the bump stops if you want. The aftermarket ones have a different spring rate and are more heavy duty.

Do you want a higher ride or a harder ride? If you're off-roading, you don't really want the hardest ride, as it will reduce articulation and result in your wheels losing contact. Try trimming your bump stops on your upper arm and then rotate the adjusting lever on the rear of the torsion bar by 2 splines. This will give you more height but without the harsh ride. If your torsion bars are worn and saggy to begin with, see if you can pick up a later set of std ones from someone who has fitted h/duty ones (you should be able to get them at a good price!). Just beware that there are a couple of different length torsion bars.

Go for a body lift and only crank the T-bars a little. Be aware you will have to find someone that can do alignment. The monkeys at the local shop will be confused.

Hes got that nailed down.

They instantly hear lifted 4x4 and go to red alert. when realy it gets adjusted like any normal rear wheel drive car.

Oh way ot sorry but this my 2500th post. I am now a "Roll Me Over" Guy.
