Getting the Wheeling Fever
so after my clutch went, I don't really have the money to replace it (christmas). So I bought a ford tempo for cheap ($50) off a friend.

My question is what should I do to the truck to keep it good for when I drive it again?- 88 4runner 3.0 v6 5spd. It will be sitting beside my house over the winter until I find some cash to fix her. It is outside in the elements.

It would have been great to drive during snow season.

Put some Sta-bil in the tank (NAPA). Follow the directions.
Drain your oil and change the filter if it's overdue, so you're not fooling around with sludge and varnish. Put fresh oil back in it when you're ready to have it run again. Put a note on the steering wheel so you don't forget!

It's up to you whether to put it on blocks or not; if not, make sure the tires stay inflated so you don't bugger up the sidewalls.

Disconnect the battery and clean up the connectors; leave off if you decide to pull and put on a charger later on.

Lock 'er up and remember where ya put the keys!
That's it.

Body Damage is Cool
would it be bad to leave it undriven if you're just starting it once a week or so and let it get up to operating temps, fully?

It wouldn't hurt, but it would carbon up over time.

NOW, if it was going to wind up sitting until JULY, then just go ahead and do an oil/filter change, and fire it up once a month to keep the seals happy.

My F100 is a 2wd flatbed; quasi-mothballed, so that's what I do. Goes on blocks in the winter.
