i was just wondering what all i wound need to put a auto tranny in my 2000 wrangler it has a 5 speed now.


2000 TJ 5" lift
33" BFG AT
Rear 4-link coming soon
Front hp dana 44 and frod 9" Rear coming sonn

Wow! That would need a lot more than meets the eye. Prolly even the computer would need changing out. I doubt I would even start off in that direction. I think I would trade rides first.

Well, BJ's right if you want to run a jeep late model auto with OD. If you run the 999 3 speed auto it is a fairly straight forward swap, older jeeps with the 4.0 came with the 999 and 231 t-case. You won't have OD so top gear would be like driving around in 4th gear.

Im going to be swapping out my ax-15 (manual 5 speed) for a aw4 (auto 4 speed) Mine is a 93 yj so it will be a little different. It can be done. Its not that hard just pretty involved and be ready to do some re wiring. I've heard that it is well worth it though. Here is really good link with a TJ tranny swap.
