Due to the similarities between generations of Toyota 4WDs, it makes sense to consolidate the Toyota forums based on the engine/suspension configurations. Therefore, we will be restructuring the forums as follows:

All mini trucks and 4Runners with 20R, 22R, 3VZE V6 with either leaf-spring or torsion bar front suspension will be in the Early Toyota forum.

All Tacomas, 4Runners, and FJ Cruisers with coil-spring front suspensions and 2.7L 4-cylinders, 3.4L V6, 4.0L V6, and V8 4Runners will be in the Tacoma/4Runner/FJ Cruiser Forum.

All full-size Toyota rigs will be in the Full Size forum. This includes T100, Tundra, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, and the Lexus variants (LX and GX).

Archive will remain. We will end up with 4 forums, one of which is the Archive.

Your thoughts are appreciated. After we get some feedback, we'll set a date for implementation.

Unless it means more work maintaining it as it is, as a reader, I prefer it similar to the way it is now. I'd rather be grouped by the bodystyle than the engine/suspension configuration. Because there are so many similarities in engines & suspension, it's the body we chose that says who you are and what you do with your 4x4.

For as little traffic as the Cruiser section sees, maybe merge it with 4Runners & FJ Cruisers and add Sequoias for a complete SUV section. Early trucks and 4Runners? I thought that's what it was.

The T100 & Tundra section is unique to the ENTIRE internet. Any member here who has looked for T100 info online will tell you that. I'd rather not clutter it up with too much other stuff even though I read the Cruiser section too. The Tundra stuff fits well and is the probable next step for many guys. The T100 has more in common with the pre-Tacomas than anything, but they see enough traffic that I don't want to get lost in the shuffle there either, even though I read the Tacoma section also.

So my feedback is, do what you want with the other sections, but please keep hosting a place where you can go and read only about T100's. It's unique and active enough to be worthy of its own section, if it doesn't make more work for you and the mods.

Thanks -

I think its fine thw way it is really. The tacomas can be grouped together with the runners and all FJ's. The T100/Tundra forum here is the only one I see that ever gets much traffic, all the other ones are often ignored.

What you could do that would unclutter the entire forum is to make a forum then have subforums inside it. So you could take other forums and consolidate them even further.

Well this statement isn't even close to accurate.

One look on the Main Index at the thread and post counts shows that statement to be the uninformed opinion of one new member to the board. The 4Runner section gets a ton of traffic as do the Early Toyota trucks and Tacoma sections.

The Landcruiser section clearly does not. It could either be dropped or merged with another section, but it has no engine or suspension similarities to the T100 and barely any similarities to the Tundra. I continue to hope the T100 and Tundra can have their own section, regardless of similarities to other models and the traffic or lack thereof, of the other Toyota sections.

We were hoping some of the 'big T' guys would speak up. I just walk by them at the dealership on my way to the parts counter, cuz I think the sticker would make me faint.

Cruisers are in a class all their own; always have and will be.

Well, my piddly input is that if the T100's were tossed in with others and NON-T100 traffic went up (as it'd almost certainly would), I'd just stop coming all together. I don't have an interst in the others, and wouldn't bother to dig through the rest to get to the stuff I want to read.

And that'd be a shame because I started coming here and reading because there was an active (if smaller) community that didn't exist elsewhere. But at the same time, I have absolutly Nothing to offer the forum, and don't often ask for much either, so my input weight is a ahri more than zero.

Anyway, that's my input.

Brian

I think it is really important to keep the T-100 forum seperated out. Even though the trucks have many simalarities with other toyotas, there are unique quirks (seatbelts, crappy a/c, trans cooling issues, dealing with the stoopid 60/40 bench) that plague t-100 owners. Because there are so few of them on the road (compared to tacos, and f-150s...) it is really nice to be able to quickly consult multiple owners to get input quickly. This board has helped keep me sane, and improve the performance of my truck, and I also hope that my misadventures (worlds most expensive brake job, FAL fan fiasco, aftermarket cruise control vs after market alarm) and triumphs (LSD, Recaro seat, aftermarket cruise control) have helped other T owners.

The T is an odd truck... its got a smallish engine for its size, huge ground clearance in its stock 4wd form, and reasonable approach and departure angles. It can take gobs of stuff, and drives like a camry. Sure the camber bolts freeze up, and they dont do too great in the rust belt, but I hope my son inherits mine in 14 years.

Keep the T-100s seperate!

This is great feedback, Erik hinted we might hear this. Quite frankly, I didn't understand the passion T100 owners have for this forum.

We'll keep this forum for you all, and consolidate the others.

Passion for T's------that's easy. Up here in the rust belt (NY) anything over 6 years old is all rusted up underneath as well as body wise. I am on my second one and neither has the problems a lot of newer trucks have. They are full size (8 ft. bed) sit 3, good handling and good looking. 4 Runners and all others are rotted out up here, not T's. The 2wd one I had I sold after it got wrecked - and sold it for $3K to a guy who is happier than ever that he has it. And when you look at the pre 06 Tundras, their side styling is nearly identical to the T100's! The factory style guys knew they had the right thing right out of the box....

Anyway, the other guys responding have it right. Thanks for asking for our opinions.

Bill
