 89 RS wheels stopped spinning with 4x engaged

All I did was hit a big snow drift and both wheels stopped turning. It's cold out so I have'nt pulled off one of the manual locking hubs but wanted to know if I might be over looking something else.

You mean the front wheels? Are they locked up or turning freely? No noises or other clues?

shot in the dark but perhaps the impact broke or popped the c-clips off the axles in the hubs

You mean the front wheels? Are they locked up or turning freely? No noises or other clues? Yes the front wheels. Popped off the hubs and c clips were still there. No other noises.
