Hey all... I am looking to see if anyone knows a source for a replacement for the work lamp that plugs into the dash under the hood release. I have what appears to be the factory toyota lamp... but it seems to have melted due to the blub being to large.

Thanks,
Dustin

Get any 12v work/trouble light and wire it up to a 2-prong plug and you are good to go. I used a 12v fluorescent work light for mine. Or get an 1156 backup light bulb and socket to make a smaller version.

i know chevy tahoes came with that retractable work lamps under the hood (because they break down do much) i think they use a 1156 bulb but if you could some how retro fit a different bulb or use a led 1156 bulb you may be in business

I wired an led work light that I can plug into the cig. power outlet. Leds last longer, they are vibration resistant, don't get too hot, and they don't draw much power.
