So almost 2 months ago now I bought a pair of Scat racing seats for the truck. And was releived to see they offered "Scat seat bracket adapters" to make installation time fast and painless on me.
Scat calls today and says it will be another 2months at Least before they have brackets to ship <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> the hell.
Heres an idea of what the bracket looks like.
Have any of you made custom seat brackets and are they fairly easy to construct. I, unfortunatley, don't own a welder or any of the tools to make this job easier for me so will probably have to call some shops or friends to see what can be done.
I havent checked under the carpet yet, but, i've been told some of these trucks have threaded holes that "Could" potentially line up w/ the seats/sliders?

If the seats come with mounts and slides, you could have some adapters made, though it is unlikely it will cost you less than $60 each. Have you pulled your bench seat yet to see how close the Scat seat mounts line up with the oem holes? This will give you a better idea of how easy/difficult it will be to fab up mounting brackets. Also look on the bottom of the Scat seat and see if the adjustment slides are removable, if so you might be able to get some slides from another vehicle that are close enough to work for your truck. Most of the Toyota sport cars seats arre close to the trucks, usually the outer two(f/r) bolt holes line up. However since the Scat brackets are vehicle specific, it might be easier to just wait for them to become available, for a better/correct fit.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

I've yet to pull the bench seat out just yet. Tomorrow being my only day off and hoping the weather is all good, I may pop em out and see where the sliders will line up. I am kinda tempted to wait for Summit to get them in, But, I've been waiting since 10/29 for them *sigh*
Oh, and you just reminded me of something about the toyota cars. A friend of mine that worked at NAPA claims Honda CRX seats were a direct fit into his 83 Bench Yota. I should scavenge the junkyard and see if I can locate one with intact brackets. Or even just the sliders.

I used two pieces of 1-1/2" uni-strut for brackets on each seat.
