Has anyone else found that the brake rotor guards are more trouble then they are possibly worth? Would it be bad to remove them, I think I have heard of some who have done so? I know that they will block dirt, mud, and rocks from getting int he front brake area but wont that happen regardless while offroading?

I believe that they are formed to force air across the rotor while driving as well as keep the junk out. I don't do mud, but the little that I have been in hasn't gotten past the guard. Food for thought as it were.

Yeah, they seem to keep mud and debris out of the works, and I'm pretty sure the shape is intended to direct air over the rotors...they are also really good at catching cattails....not the kitty kind

As far as the air flow thing goes, they are pretty bent up and crappy. Some of the bolts are missing and I had to wrestle one off when I was doing a wheel bearing. I would imagine it would keep some stuff out but I guess I was just hoping I could rip those pieces of crap off.
