The master is full. What needs to be checked?

Thanks

Check all your brake lines and hoses for a tiny leak, even if it seems like non-existent seepage at this point. I think the brake switch in the master cyl. reads "rest" pressure and low fluid too. I had a rear flex hose that didn't really drop the fluid level in the reservoir that much, but weeped or lost just enough pressure to trip the Brake light a few days before the rubber or crimp went all the way.
I refilled the reservoir a few days before the hose went, but still saw the warning light flashing on and off, then on steady until I fixed the hose. Once the hose was replaced, no more Brake Light.

Brake light comes on every time the temperature outside gets below a certain point...it stays on all winter, and then I don't see it again all summer. Been doing that for the last 4 years. If I drive the truck long enough to really get everything warmed up, the light goes out, even in the winter. Weirdness.

Also make sure the float thing in the MC is not stuck in the down position.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

I found out the brake warning light on my Raider has two brightness settings, one for low fluid or no pressure (BRIGHT), the other for issue with the parking brake handle switch (DIM). Just FYI... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Body Damage is Cool
I had the IDENTICAL problem on my pajero when I first got it. the problem was the rubber float thing on the inside of the cap must be pushed in and not pulled out. then life is good man.

The cold weather thing is still the float switch in the m/c reservoir, getting hung up because of different rates of contraction in the hinge area of the float between plastic and metal. Brake lube the hinge, working it up and down while doing so. Ditto the rubber air over the fluid seal, which should only protrude to fluid level when installed. It's there to allow volume changes in the reservoir without exposing the fluid to humidity in the ambient air, since the fluid is hygroscopic (likes to suck up water, which will boil when it gets hot enough and you won't have didddly for brakes).

I just had this happen... made me feel very uncomfortable. The brake peddle felt solid and was hard to push for a second and then released and I was able to use the brakes. But now the light is staying on. I wondering if there is water moisture in the lines that froze... ew....
