This is probably a simple solution. How do i go about winding the winch cable onto my M8000 Warn? What is the easiest and best way to get the cable wound in a tight way. Thanks

I wrapped my tree-saver strap around a big tree, set the hand brake, and winched myself toward the tree. Trans in neutral, and hand brake adjusted to give the "right" amount of drag.

Well kfunk... no matter how pretty you spool it on there when you really get a big tug going the cable will sink between the lower rows and bury itself anyway! Remember to unwind the cable and respool it everytime you use it so the next time you really need it unspooling will be possible. Nothing can screw up your day worse than being stuck and not being able to gget the line off of the spool! Big JIm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />
