OK, so how do you guys remove the bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor? There is this large brace in the way, not to mention the exhaust. I have an o2 socket but there's too much play in my socket driver to get any good force, I keep running into the transmission pan. Do I have to remove this frame brace?

BTW, I have searched this site up and down and there seems to be some conflicts regarding which side is bank 1 / bank 2. I have seem it claimed and/or corrected both ways, LOL. Is this because some troopers/rodeos are right hand drive? I think that if you were looking at the engine from the front of the truck, bank 1 is on the left, and bank 2 is on the right. Is this correct?

Bank 1 is the passenger's side... it corresponds to the odd numbered cylinders. Bank 2 is the driver's side.

All I can tell you about removing and installing O2 sensors on a 1996-97 Rodeo is this:
Without a Body Lift, I have *no idea* how I would have done mine -- it was pretty tight work, even then.

Good luck <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I just replaced my bank 2 sensor. and the check engine light did not go away. Do I need to have it cleared or can I just unhook the battery and get the same result.

BTW the body lift did make this easy with the proper tools.
