Body Damage is Cool
lately the idle on my 22RE truck has been pulsing every so often, either nearly dying and normal idle speed, or between a normal or high idle. usually 1 second between pulses here. applying or removing my foot from the brakes has no effect, though sometimes i can get it to kick down to either a normal or high idle by slapping the gas pedal.

never had anything like this before...anybody have any insight?

First check your coolant level, then check your TPS. If those are OK, check your auxilury air valve by pinching the hose that goes to the TB. When cold, the engine should die or almost die. When warm, it shouldn't drop by any more than 50 rpm. You can also check the resistance specs on the electrical plug on the back, you're looking for 39-59 ohms.
