Getting the Wheeling Fever
My 4x4 engagement dash light on my 94' Runner is not working for H4 or L4. What should I check first?

Thanks in advance,

Hugh

is the actual 4wd engaging? or do you just have a light problem?

Well, the L4 is crawling slow as if engaged, but I don't know about the H4.

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this one or where to start.

find some loose dirt around since your fresh out of ice around there and see if your fronts are spinning, the transfer case will still make you crawl slow even if the front isnt engaging, im guessing the light isnt out since it doesnt come on too much compared to the others...

4x4 update: seems that either the electrical signal or vacuum isn't actuating the front drive wheels (not a dash light problem). My guess is that it is a vacuum leak, looking into it as soon as time allows.

Update and fix: Ends of the 4x4 vacuum hoses look chewed by mice. Spliced the ends = good to go <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
