Is there a performance brake kit for T100 that someone can recommend? I am just not pleased with my braking distance, especially the way I drive. I need to find something to drastically reduce my braking distance. Thanks in advance for your help.

It all in the right foot...nothing for brake upgrade unless you did rear disc, not worth the money to me, ErikB has suggested brembo rotors with hawks pads are great, the rotors are nothing special, same size, just cheaper than OEM. Tirerack has them cheapest...or another member of the board has a pair of rotors laying around...dont recall who.

Start with the basics, and work your way up.

Tires. If they aren't good, braking distances will be long.

Tire pressure. If it isn't right, especially if it unbalances the truck, braking distances will be long.

Hydraulics. If the fluid isn't good, there's air in it, or the components aren't in good shape, braking distances will be long.

Then, and only then, should you go looking into better pads and maybe rotors.

I did have some rotors, gave up and sent them back b/c no one showeed interest even on fleabay.

I switched to hawk LTS pads and brembo rotors and have been very happy thus far.

This is the "thing" to do with the T-100s...when i went to 285/75r16's i switched to Brembo's and hawk pads which made the breaking back to normal or even better...

Another option is to get stainless lines, they improve it and are on my to do list. Goodridge makes the best ones or so I hear.

marlin crawler has much cheaper ones, they are also jacketed in vinyl to protect the brades, my fronts are Goodridge, like them, using Marlin's rear though...ill be doing brembo and hawk pads this summer...

FYI, I'm using the HPS pads vs. the LTS. I don't know how much difference there is. This doesn't do anything for the rear, but theoretically you should also be able to raise your brake prop valve rod a bit too and get the rears working harder and still have a decent front/rear bias.

What size tires are your running? (I'm guessing larger than stock since you have a lift). What size is your master?

The 2wd's sometimes came with a 1-1/16" master. I can only assume that this is to "tune" them down for the smaller tires.

Switching to a smaller 1" master like the 4wds would give you increased brake leverage (about 14% higher pressure at the caliper with the same pressure from your foot).

I've been toying with the idea of switching from the stock 1" master on mine down to a 15/16" to make up for my ~13% taller tires.

The downside to going smaller is that the pedal feels softer though.

I know everyone jumps on the "bigger master = stronger brakes" bandwagon so this might seem counter intuitive. If that's the case, read this:

I dont know the exact difference between the LTS and HPS pads, but I was much happier with these pads vs whatever was on there.

Before it was done the trucks topped but not nearly as nice.
