Still got my Jeep, added a few things to it (new sound bar, top and MP3 Player connector)

Im looking at getting new lights for it now. Headlights and foglights.

Few questions though..

Whats the difference between a foglight and a driving light? I assume the driving light is on ALL the time? What are the benefits from getting a driving light and fog light system as compared to just a fog light system?

Will my stock battery be able to run fog, driving, and new headlights?

The battery should be able to handle it, if it's in good shape. You're not going to be running these lights with the engine off, so it is the output of your alternator that will determine how much you can run. Also, keep in mind that you're not likely to have the fog lights and the driving lights on at the same time.

Fog lights are constructed so they have a very wide, but short range, beam. They are then mounted so that they aim at a point lower than your low beam headlights. The putpose is to allow you to see the road under the fog, without the glare of the lights bouncing off of the fog back at you.

Driving lights are constructed to enhance the headlights. They are usually constructed to have a beam width a ilttle tighter than headlights, and they typically have somewhat longer range.

For example, some of the more popular aftermarket fog lights are listed as having a range of 500 feet, while the driving lights are typically listed as having a range of 1500 to 2500 feet. They also make long-range lights that are typically listed as having a range of 4500 to 5500 feet.

Now, can any one reccommend a good set of fogs/driving lights.

After last night I really think I need both. Had to drive back up a mountain, in 60+ mph gusts of wind, so much snow on the road i couldnt see any lines, and i couldnt see anything in front of me because of my crappy light situation haha.

Stock Bumper, so im slightly limited on space to put lights.

I was figuring with an Auxillary light bar I could fit 4 of them though.

you might also want to consider light tabs near the side mirrors

I think im going to get these with some hella driving lights. Much less expensive than a light bar.

I got some KC knockoffs at O'riley. Drilled the stock bumper and mounted them up. Total cost, lights, wire, relay, switch, tape, tie-wraps, etc. about 75.00. They are 100W driving lights.

Sure makes driving down the beach in the dark a lot easier.

Mac, I just purchased some Sylvania Siverstar headlights and they are AWESOME...night and day (literally) over the stock headlamps. About 40$ for the set at any auto parts store. Got mine at Advance.

I upgraded my headlights from the crappy sealed beam to Hella lens/bulb combo. Uses an HB2 bulb and combined with the much improved beam pattern, it's a freaking amazing difference. I usually do not need to even use the high beams most of the time on the back roads at night. Even more amazing I think is how the low beams are a nice, wide, even beam, and the highs are a very high focused, long range beam. Really amazing stuff. I think they were $35.00 each from Summit, complete with bulbs. Plug into stock wiring harness. I give them a big thumbs up.
