But look at this.

Recreation Permit
Application Fee: $70

A Recreation Permit is required for all groups of at least 7 vehicles or 15 participants for common recreational activities (rock climbing, hunting, fishing or trapping, equestrian use, bicycling, street-legal motorcycle or all-terrain vehicle use, backcountry use and roadside vehicle camping) and large group gatherings (weddings, ceremonies/gatherings, large camp rendezvous). Proof of insurance and posting of a bond may also be required. For more information or if you have questions, call (760) 252-6107 or e-mail the superintendent.

Need a Spot
I'd love to do this if it were at the end of October. Work being in the way of anything earlier.

Enjoy!

Body Damage is Cool
I'll be leading a group of 3 to 5 vehicles (hopefully) on the same road, the same time, west-to-east direction. I suppose that we will meet somewhere in the middle and we will have a nice little chat. We are going to stay the Friday night in Afton Canyon campground, and the second night on Hole-in-the-wall campground. We will have Isuzus and Monteros in our group.

Have a nice trip guys.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Ok, I'm still in and coming from the South, so I could start from either end. It's relatively the same distance to a start location for me. If one party gets close to 7, I'll head the opposite way.

We are not competing for people, I do not want to hijack your trailride, this is your thread and your ride. I do not encourage anybody to jump from your group to my group. This is just an information that we will probably meet somewhere on the road. But if somebody cannot make to the eastern end by Friday night, then our group can be found on the western end on Afton Canyon campground, and you are welcome. But again, this is not advisable
I am not sure that you will find our company enjoyable We are just a group of grim non-humorous ugly Russians with strong accents. I hope this warning is enough.
