Got a rebuilt engine installed by a shop. I expect they put the vacuum hoses on incorrectly, because when I picked it up one hose looped on top of the valve cover with almost a foot of slack. When I brought it in for the 500 mile check I pointed that out, but I suspect they just cut it off because they complained that the under hood hose diagram was fuzzy. Anyway, the engine idles too fast, and after about 10 minutes from a cold start the idle rises and falls for a while. > How can I check the vacuum hoses? > What is causing the idle to vary?
