Getting the Wheeling Fever
Ok, after changing the heads cause they leaked and cleaning everything and new gaskets, my 93 ZJ 5.2 has come back to life. While I was working on all that. Hughes Performance was rebuilding my torque converter. They said the clutch lining was gone. So here is my question.

When the tranny shifts from 2nd to 3rd, it take a long time a goes up to about 2500 RPM before it shifts. Yes the tranny does have a shift kit. But it does this whether my foot is in it or not. Any ideas? I thought about getting the TCM flashed cause that has never been done.

Thanks
Tim

Body Damage is Cool
I looked over some of your old posts a bit and apparently you've been having transmission problems for years with this thing. Your post raises lots of questions in my mind but no immediate answers. I assume the thing is all back together now with the rebuilt torque converter and twice?? rebuilt transmission. My first Q. is, are you using the proper transmission fluid? next, Have you tried disconnecting the TCM or Battery for a while and then "retraining" the TCM? Next, what do you mean

?
Are you saying the engine speeds up to 2500 rpm without touching the gas or what?

My tranny did the same thing. I thinks it's a 999(?)3-spd. auto. I dumped a couple of doses of Lucas in it, and it straightened up. Hasn't been a problem since. Your results may vary.
