Quick question, tried searching, but too many results, how much does the transmission and transfer case weight together? my bro and i are going to try and get it out of the trooper today. Thanks for the help..

You shouldn't have too much of a problem. I've done it with 2 people and a floor jack along with a ratcheting strap and it wasn't much of a problem overall. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

a bunch of extensions and a few of the u-joint thingies (sorry for the ultra technical wordage) and a little patience usually gets that one <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

About two feet of extension to be exact haha, we went through the shifter whole, and loosened it from inside, worked pretty well, didnt have any ujoint thingies so i didnt use those, probably would have been helpful though, I think in the end all the cussing and screaming is what made everything work out..

Like Rob, I usually do it by myself. I use a floor jack and ratchet straps. It is around 80 to 100 lbs if I remember right. Curtis was going to ship one to me and it was just over the ups limit.

well, if anyone is interested, it weighs 162 pounds with all the oil drained out..
