Farm & Fleet/Citgo 10w30. That's what I use in my truck and my car too. Growing up, Dad and I both had Chevy Citations with the Iron Duke both with well over 100k miles using whatever was on sale every 3000 miles

I think it's more about regular maintenance and care than the brand.

Me too! Use the proper API class of oil (and viscosity) and change it every 3000 miles and there's no advantage to speak of in buying other than the cheapest brand.

Jim/Pete...I had to laugh...my dad has always used that el cheapo wal-mart stuff. I would always buy the expensive oil and he'd tell me I was wasting my money. He'd say, "what, do you plan on driving that thing for the next 20 years or something?"

I have been thinking...for daily driving...are full synthetics REALLY making our vehicles last longer? I'm not really sure and leaning towards no. Look at my 2.5...ran Mobil 1 for 50,000 miles and she still blew up, heh.

My philosophy has changed to "if it has 200,000 miles on it, it has 200,000 miles on it. Get rid of it or plan on a rebuild! I used to get these people in work with vehicles that old, similiar mileage...they'd be in every week dumping gobs of money into these things that were falling off their frames. Their usual attitude was "this POS". I'd laugh and say, "what do you expect...it's 20 years old!!!" It's not designed to last that long! Think about how many rotations an alternator or pulley or wheel bearing has made in that time.

Mudrunner

Dealer oil (0-3k approx.)
Super wally brand (3k-6k approx.)
Mobil 1 10w-30 Synth (6k-?)

I've used most of the oils in one way or another for vehicals/lawn mowing/snow removal equipment. imho - the M1 10w-30 Synth is bar non the best product i've used to date. When your running lawn equipment 8-10 hrs. a day and in 100+* temps, it only takes a real world test, too know that Mobil is it.

If'n it taint broke.....ad,ad,ad

I use Amsoil everywhere. Last rig I sold at 277,000 miles and it still started as fast as you could turn the key. Inside of the engine looked like new, no sludge or gunk.
Used the bypass filter system and changed the oil every 100,000 miles. Changed oil filter twice a year and the bypass every year, only oil I used was during top offs at the filter changes. Checked the timing chain at 100,000 miles, it was within new specs so I never touched it again.
