original post

We got some snow, so I had to hold off on going over there. Since the original post, the runner starting pulling to the left when hitting the brakes. So, they freaking tell me that I have a front-LEFT brake problem. wtf????!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> Says my front left rotor "needs attention".

How in the hell do bad brakes on the left cause you to pull to the left - should pull to the right.

The actual mechanic wasn't there, this was relayed to me 2nd hand by a guy who apparently works there but is not a mechanic... Whatever. I guess I learnt my lesson 'bout paying someone else to work on my rig.

I'm not necessarily doubting that my rotors may be getting thin after 200k, but I seem to see a pattern of missing the real problem.

EDIT: only pulls when hitting the brakes

I sticking caliperon the left would make you pull to the left.

Brakes aren't rocket science, they require normal tools, and the willingness to do it right, IE turn or replace rotors...

I'll definitely turn or replace them if they need it. If the caliper was sticking, wouldn't it pull all the time, not just when I hit the brake?

No, I haven't had anytime. I hoped to convince the shop to make it right, but now I'll have to make the time.

thoughts and personal trials i had breaks pulling befor i up graded my fron calipers and rotors and found it to be a sticky caliper on the right that coused it to pull to the left cuz >>the right caliper sticky and would not clamp rotor with same force as the left side couseing left side to break harder than right test it by having friends wife ect >>>slowly apply break wile u look at bolth removed calipers and see if one moves easyer than the other then put block of wood in between caliper that moves easy and see how much presure it takes to move sticky caliper all with engine off so it can be felt for real and so u can tell helper when to stop ect . hope this helps shannon
ps. loaded calipers are cheap in cal about 80 a piece cheap stopping insurance hit me up pm if u need more asistance or would like to know more about my upgrades experiance !
