Previous Thread Next Thread Print Thread Rate Thread Rear axle #787531 02/08/07 08:13 AM Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 16 JeepXJ88 OP Need a Spot hello, I have to admit that I dont know much at all about axles, but I have an 88 xj with a stock dana 35 in the rear and im running 33's pretty hard sometimes. I hear all the time that the 35 is not very strong and an upgrade is a good option. I know that a lot of people have done a ford 8.8 swap from a explorer but I already have a ford ranger axle sitting around with 5:13 gears and a huge diff cover. I think the axle is a inch or 2 smaller in width. Is it possible to put this in an XJ and if so what else do I need to know to make the switch? 88 XJ, 4.5 RE superflex, ARB bull bar, Warn M8000, 33" MTR's, OX locker, 4.88 gears, And Many KC lights.
