Need a Spot
hello, I have to admit that I dont know much at all about axles, but I have an 88 xj with a stock dana 35 in the rear and im running 33's pretty hard sometimes. I hear all the time that the 35 is not very strong and an upgrade is a good option. I know that a lot of people have done a ford 8.8 swap from a explorer but I already have a ford ranger axle sitting around with 5:13 gears and a huge diff cover. I think the axle is a inch or 2 smaller in width. Is it possible to put this in an XJ and if so what else do I need to know to make the switch?

88 XJ, 4.5 RE superflex, ARB bull bar, Warn M8000, 33" MTR's, OX locker, 4.88 gears, And Many KC lights.

Body Damage is Cool
Beware the 28 spline ranger junk axles...a disc brake exploder has 31 splines, no contest.
