95+ Longer tie rod adjusters (ends are the same)

It is also probably worth noting that if you are going to all that trouble, this would be an excellent time to upgrade to the heavy-duty Independent4x tie rods...

Great!!! now this post has me pondering another mod to my 94 amigo....... i believe the 96&97 Rodeos use longer upper and lower control arms;
-are these arms longer or the same dimensions as the 95,96 troopers?
-would they bolt on to my 94 or does the upper control arm mounts have to be modified?
-would the cv halfshafts from the 96 or 97 rodeo work?
-and finally!! i believe i could use Independent 4x's
to solve the problem of having to use longer tie rods

Any Input?

thanks

The 1996-97 Rodeos have the early (pre- wide fender) 2nd Gen Trooper front suspension, soup to nuts.

Quote
-are these arms longer or the same dimensions as the 95,96 troopers?

Again, they are the same set-up as the NON- Wide Fender Troopersà If the donor Trooper has factory fender flares, then itÆs a slightly different animal. (* More on that below)

Quote
-would they bolt on to my 94 or does the upper control arm mounts have to be modified?

Maybe / Maybe notà
As far as I know (and IÆve been doing a whole lot of research on the subject), the A-arms themselves *might* bolt right up on an earlier Isuzu (or do so with some fab work) -- BUTà

Quote
-would the cv halfshafts from the 96 or 97 rodeo work?

I have my doubtsà
The earlier Rodeos/Amigos/Troopers, etc. all had unequal length CV shafts, where one side is shorter than the otherà Whereas the 2nd Gen Troopers and Gen 1.5 Rodeos were equipped with equal length CV shafts that are 100% interchangeable (left-right / right-left). --- This would most likely pose a problem when it came time to install the longer CVs that the wider A-arms would require.

HOWEVER, all of my research indicates that it *is* possible to (rather easily) convert a 1996-97 Rodeo front suspension over to the later wide fender Trooper set-upà Just swap-in the wide fender TrooperÆs longer upper A-arms, longer lower Ball Joints, longer CVs, and longer Tie Rods û and BINGO; youÆre there.

By themselves, yes û but like I said above, the most likely problem that youÆll run into is the CVs.

Six Isuzus, so far... still have three of them.

Thanks Smiley for the info, seems like the sticking point would be the cv's. I wonder if the front axle assembly of a 95,96 trooper would fit under my 94 amigo? if that were the case i could swap basically the whole front end and fabricate upper control arm mounts to make this work

thanks again
