Getting the Wheeling Fever
My buddy called me earlier today and asked me to pick him up at the bottom of the hill. It's fuel injected and we just changed out the plugs, wires, rotor button and cap last week and it was running like a top. It just died on him and he thought he was out of gas. We put gas in it and still no start. It acts like it wants to start but won't. We also replaced the fuel pump relay and still nothing. Any ideas what we should look for?
Thanks,

Try spraying carburetor cleaner or ether into the intake and see if it starts.

Body Damage is Cool
Yeah, if it'll run by spraying combustibles into the intake, check the fuel pump electrical connector back by the pump.

If you unplug the connector and don't see anything wrong, try hooking a 12V power source directly to the pump.
If the pump still doesn't run, it's shot.

Happened with my '89 Spacecab, first it started acting up then died on the way home. Got a new pump from Schuck's.

You can look up prices on their website ( www.partsamerica.com ), and if it's cheaper there, the local store will honor that price.

Thanks Guys!
We'll give that a try tomorrow. Bruce replaced the pump about a year ago but it started giving him trouble as he was going up the hill and died and it is acting like it's just not getting fuel. O'reilly's has one in stock.

Don't forget to check the alternator and its associated wiring as well. With the 2.6, no alt = no fuel.

Guys!
Thanks for all the advice! We couldn't really look underneath yesterday as there is snow here and it was late. HOWEVER! We jacked it up this morning and found one of the wires had a bad place and had broken from corrosion, etc! We spliced with heavy duty connectors and bingo!:o
Thanks again!
