Need a Spot

Im new here so this might be here somewhere.but i cant find it.can someone tell me if i need to take the head off to put a new timing chain on or can i do it with the head on?and what parts do i need like gaskets?and how long will it take i have put new heads on them but it was a long long time ago!!thanks <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

none on the exhaust side + a little on the intake side but the tensioner will take care of that

You can get away without replacing the headgasket, but I wouldn't. Having lost a block to a corrosion issue due to an old headgasket on a 22RE, it just isn't that much harder to do it right - IMHO at least.
