Getting the Wheeling Fever
I need to replace my brake master cylinder. The only replacements that I have been able to find do not come with the reservior. My old reservior is fine but the rubber insert/gasket that goes inside the lid is torn. I can't find replacement reservior lids/gaskets anywhere. Does any one have a home made solution or know of a supplier that has them?? Is there another mitsubishi vehicle that uses the same master cylinder?? My truck is down until I can get this fixed. Any help is appreciated.

I bought one last year from the local dealer. They should still have them IIRC they're not obscenely expensive.

I just replaced mine recently with a cardone select from Rockauto.com. $70 + shipping/handling for a new unit. They also have remanufactured ones for about 1/2 the price after core. Mine came complete with new reservoir and cap. Replacement is very straightforward, just remember to bench-bleed the cylinder before you install it.

Good luck. If you have any other questions, let me know.

The dealer said they are no longer available?

Uh oh.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a Dodge dealer (note that the vehicle in question is a Raider). A couple of times I've called a local Dodge dealer regarding a part for my Raider and been told (albeit kindly, and with part# help) to go to a Mitsubishi parts counter for the item in question...

Good point Eric. Remember all, both the Dodge Raider and the same year Montero's are the same other than minor cosmetic differences.

DJ, did you check at both Dodge & Mitsu dealers for these parts?
