There was a concern regards oiling and cam lobe failures, the ARP stud being fatter. I read it on another board I think. But at this point I don't think that is a problem, still, something to check for....*EB

That was me. I have some concerns regarding the TL casting and using ARP studs as they have a fatter shank than the OEM head bolts. It will definitely restrict oil flow somewhat. Is it enough to make a difference? No idea.. There are certainly more TL casting with ARPs than those that have failures.

I've put about 70 miles on this setup. I pulled the #1 passenger side ARP, ran an OEM bolt. I also dropped my spring pressure. Added a true turbo oil pump and did some recommended modifications to one of the rocker towers to retain more oil. No indications of exceesive wear on the cams or rockers right now. Previously, by 200 miles, I at least one rocker failure.

Still tuning this setup, but up to 10psi currently. 10 psi on a 22RE really wakes the thing up.. :-)

>>>*Thought so. Next time I see one of those setups in our shop I am going to machine the three studs down just to trst and see what happens.

*Glad you got yours going, that was quite a go-around for awhile, I guess.

(*Yea, 10# on an RE really gets some heat in there.. Should be fun!..)..*EB

Need a Spot
I have ARP studs and had no clearance issues. I can agree with EB on the tap. I chased my holes with a tap and it caused one hole to not hold torque. I had to Heli-coil them all. Be careful here and use a magnetic drill or have the machine shop do it for you. I have a couple of studs that I had to encourage to start into the holes in the head. Also I haven't had any oiling issues on the cam.
