I had been thinking about this since last fall. Cancer amongst my friends and family has REALLY been in my face this past year and a half. One friend just got back from Seattle this past week from skull replacement(you read that right)surgery. Had a setback today; we're just hoping he can survive the rest of his treatments in decent shape.

What in the world is a skull replacement surgery?

I've had long hair a couple of times. This last time I cut it off and gave it to Locks of Love. I hope they actually used it.

I always imagined you having more freckles. Not gettin' the sun you need up there, eh?

Don't worry; I freckle up in the summer. Usta be a strawberry redheaded kid. Kind of windburned right now; got in a little XC skiing this weekend.

Yeah, I'm about 3" short for Locks of Love; my buddy Joe sits down for them about every 3 years.

Jim had his cancer masticate into his skull mass. The replacement plate is acrylic, and extends from about 1/2" above his eyebrows to the top median line. His staple line ran over the top of his head from the top of each ear opening. Looks like I might be in and out of their place a lot here pretty soon. His wife needs a break.

Bald is BEEEUUUTIFUL!
