Looking for a decent 220V arc welder for some home fab. Open to pretty much anything in good condition at a decent price. Or let me know where good deals on stick welders are.

In reponse to your second post, also open up the viewing in Tools/Fab for other ideas.

I have tried that but I guess my area in Rochester, NY doesnt have too many (1) up for sale. I am also trying to figure out what I am looking for. 220V is a good standard that will work in home (garage) but how much amperage will I need for welding steel up to 1/4"? I am trying to figure out if I forgot any important specs on what I need to get. Also, sometimes they list the operating voltage or something 208/240, what does that mean? Households only go to 220V correct?

Most households around here have bout 217V.. 208/240 means anything between.. Yes there are 208 electric systems and yes there are 240 systems so that welder will work on any of them.

I use the Lincweld AC 220. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> And if your quick and good you can do sheet metal with it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> As well as fat chunks-o-steel. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mrt.gif" alt="" />
