I seem to remember someone having a fix for the leaking valve cover problem. What is the best gasket to get-Toyota? or does it matter? The coolant is coming from the back of the engine. I just pulled the plenum off and most of the heater hoses. None of them seemed to be too bad. I'm hoping its not a freeze plug. I figured since I had the plenum off I might as well change the valve cover gaskets.

I used Toyota gaskets. They worked. Just make sure and put a dab of the black sealant in each corner just befor install. Clean the serface good as well.

Well on my 3.0 i used to have a coolant leak behind the motor and it waould lightly steam through the wiper cowl. I was like WTF. It ended up being the hose behind the intake manifold, it comes out and goes right back in the intake trhough the hose. The hase was bad and developed a leak, damned thing almost burned my motor, it was (ill fix it later deal) but thats where mine was leaking from, so it can give you a place to look at.

For some reason teh passenger side valve gasket always leakes regardless of oem or not. My sister had hers replaced at the dealer, and I replaced mine at home after doing teh heads, and both passenger gaskets leak. When I pull mine I am going to use some sealant along the outer edge, the place they tend to leak.

I was going to replace all the heater hoses but the dealership was to expensive-big suprise. I just took some hoses off, wire brushed the male ends, got new hose clamps and tightened some things down. It hasn't leaked yet. I also put some spray-on gasket sealer on the valve cover gaskets along with red silicone on the corners. I'll tell ya'll if it works or not.
