Getting the Wheeling Fever
Well its under way. Haven't had much time to work on the Raider, hence the lack of input on my part re the engine swap. I have got the drive train out of the Raider and am in the midst of fabing some mounts for the 4ltr. As I was lining up the 4.0 in the engine bay I realized that there were a couple bolt holes on either side of the block damn close to where the stock mounts were located, so I took the mounts off the block of the raider bolted them on to the 4.0 and to my suprise they line up almost perfectly wit about a 2" clearance from the firewall. However the engine does not center. Soooo.... I separated the 2 brackets that are welded together on the raider mounts bolted one side to the 4.0 and one side to the rubber mounts on the frame rail and was able to center the engine as well as level it. Will be tacking them in place today and pulling them out for a full weld. Would have done it yesterday but the welder I borrowed isn't working. Thats as far as ive got so far but those mounts being as close as they are have saved me the hassle of fabbing new ones. I could hardly belive it. Will keep yous guys up to date as the project progresses.

Mark

Oh yeah, looks as though a body lift will definatley be in order to clear the tranny tunnel. And the shift linkage for the raider tranny just might work on the exploder tranny.
