Need a Spot
My first post here. Hi all, my name's Bob. I've got an 85 4x4 standard cab truck which I purchased new. I'm now in the process of reassembly after basically restoring the whole truck. I've bought a whole bunch of parts from the local Toyota dealership, mainly clips for moldings which appear designed to break whenever you try to remove the part they attach.
I'm now in need of a couple of wiring harness retaining clips. These clips aren't available through the dealer anymore, but I was hoping that someone here might be able to supply an outside source for these.
These clips are about 2 3/4 inches long and about 1/4 inch wide, plastic and h-shaped in profile. Here's what they kinda look like from a side view:

The L----------- should be centered along the length of the line above it for an accurate representation of what I'm after. Sorry, I couldn't get this post to do what I wanted.

There is one located on each side of the truck which help fasten the turn signal/parking light wiring to the fender area. The clip is taped to the wiring harness at each end leaving the short part of it exposed.
Like a lot of these little plastic parts, mine have gotten brittle and broken.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!!

Is there any way you could post a picture? I have a wrecking yard about a mile away loaded with Toyotas that off of which I could probably get something.

Call this co. to see where their nearest distributor is.

I don't know if they have wiring loom fasteners, but just about everything else .

Post a pic of what you need

I'm not too certain how to go about posting pix at this site. I read the FAQ section about how to post pix with a message. If I understand it correctly, I need a web site to post the pix to and then use the url to point the way. I uploaded the pix to my yahoo page. Here's the link to it:

Hope that works. If it doesn't, I'd be more than happy to email them to ya.

If I may ask another favor: Since you're gonna look for the clips anyway, would you mind taking note or snapping a pic detailing where the clip secures to the body of the truck. Mine has been apart for so long, I've forgotten. Thanks much! Regards, Bob

Well, they don't allow cameras in the yard I go to, but I'll see what I can sneak in <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Next time I'm out there I'll try to grab a couple for ya.
