You caught it in time. Replace it ASAP. Metal on metal there: bad <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />!

How do we know someone hasn't already swapped out the TC with a metal guide? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

What's the history on this truck? Year? Mileage?

Because they're all plastic from the factory.. and they snap. The metal guides have a thin layer of plastic. This plastic will wear down, but not completely snap.

I beleive 100,000mi is the precationary mantainance point to replace the TC.

Oh ok. So you think the "rubber" he's seeing is actually the plastic coating?

The metal guides are actually metal backed. Once the plastic or rubber coating wears down, all you will see is the metal. You don't want the metal chain riding on the metal guide.
