it may be that the timing chain cover has a hole worn in it and that would explain oil in coolant. You should take off your oil pan and clean out the remnants of the chain guide.

ok i replaced the timing chain today.it looks like is has been done before.you can see marks in the cover.but i think they just replaced the guides and not the chain.can it make a truck run better with a new chain or am i imagining things?seems to run a little better now.and its olot quieter now to.can you mesure the old chain to see if it was strechted?

mine seem to run better after I put in a new timing kit.TYhat and adjusting the valves made mine much more quiet.

If there was slack in the chain then yes. Mine was the same way after I replaced my TC. It ran a lot smoother.
