Re: 2005 Tundra
Anybody know a handy way to disable the cargo lamp that comes on behind the cab when you open a door? Can I just pull a fuse or something. (I don't have an owner's manual to find an electrical diagram. What fuse # is it?)
I would just pull the bulbs but I can't get to them w/o removing my topper and i'd rather not do all that now.
Any q&d tricks?
TIA

I'm going to take a stupid wildass guess on this. Typically Toyota sends +12V to all bulbs and relies on an applied ground to turn them on. In this case it is the door switch. There may be a common +12 going up in the headliner for both dome and cargo lights. You might get lucky and the wiring for the cargo light may splice into the wiring for the dome light and you could cut it. Try pulling down the dome light and see what is up there.

I know my 01 has a switch for it that you can manually turn the light on or off. Yes, it will still come on with the door, but as soon as the door is shut, it goes off. What's wrong with that? Not like it stays on forever. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I tried doing the exact same thing once. I never did find a way to really disable the Tundra's cargo light, which kind of got annoying after a while. _________________ 2005 Toyota Tundra Accesorios - Tundra 4x2 06 Catalog by Toyota Motors
