Getting the Wheeling Fever
Im trying to decide weather to go with a long one peice driveshaft or if i should stay with a 2 peice and a carrier bearing. Ive asked a few people and was just seeing if anyone knew anything i havent heard yet. What are the pro's and con's of a one peice driveshaft vs a 2 peice.

Body Damage is Cool
1 pc has one less (and expensive) bearing to go bad, stronger if you wheel hard.

Are all one-piece(ers) going to be a custom job from a shop or do they have aftermarket one_piece drive shafts? I'm guessing they are all custom since there may not be high demand and every vehicle may very but maybe I am wrong?

Body Damage is Cool
One piece hangs lower along more of the length of it and is thereby more exposed to damage. That's the only con I can think of and not necessarily enough of one to not swap over. A one piece, as mentioned, is less expensive on routine maintenance and more straightforward when it comes to correcting lifted angles.

It will be a custom job BUT you can take your measurements and find one at a wrecking yard from something close or the same in length to what you need (say a Chebby or Ferd) and have it adapted.

Need a Spot
I had a problem with my daughter's two piece shaft (1996 Tacoma) , and replaced it with a one piece shaft. Great decision. I bought it for $275 from a shop in Califonia . Total was $315, shipped to my door in Pittsburgh, Pa...........The new shaft is great.....PS Be sure to use heavy duty U- joints on the one piece shaft...You will be pleased.
