Another vote for the FFOR Full-Floater kit. Disk brakes and stronger axles shaft plus I run vented FJ rotors with IFS calipers and I can stop better than most cars. Btw: My wife has found the windshield a couple times with her forehead. She has learned to wear her seatbelt at all times now.

If cost is a factor, look at the kit from Sky Manufacturing . It looks good and they also sell the t-case parking brake.

Now there we go. As I suspected the front and rear Chevey calipers are the same mount and rotor dia wise. I can probably source a set of used rears cheaper than the $300 they say new ones cost. I could save $80 buy bending some tubing and not using the braided SS lines. No need for braided SS lines on the rear of the truck! They mention moded rotors but Im not sure if they are required or what the mod is to fit the Toy maybe? Ill call or email for more details.

I like the full float kit, but damn its expensive. all you get is shafts and the adapter really. you have to supply spindles bearings hubs lockouts or flanges etc.

I'm pretty sure there is a Cadillac Eldorado caliper w/e-brake that fits the Chevy conversion brackets. I hear they're fairly pricy though. Sky Manufacturing should be able to tell you what to get. -- Matt

No kiddin, I cant belive the price for even used Chevy rear callipers! I have extra ford ones laying around! Ill call my local yards and see if I can get a set cheap. I though everyone used Chevy stuff cause its cheap! LOL. The core at the local parts place on the rear units is almost 2 X what they charge you for the remand part! Oh and there is no levers on them. Still I have seen them for $150 a pair. plus $80 for the back plate adaptors , $80 for the rotors and some brake hardware, thats not to bad of a price. Under $350 is not bad. My only concern is where do you get rear rotors when you need them. I like having someting you can get on a Sunday off the shelf you know?

No need for braided stainless no, but you do want some sort of flex line rather than a hard line right to the caliper if you're using the GM ones. The Monte calipers float unlike Toy ones and your hard line will eventually break if you connect it directly to the caliper.

Good point, Ill plumb an S curve into them like they do near the Master cyl (coil) to allow for frame flex.

First off Toy calipers don't float because they have 4 pistons. Superior Design! I made rear disc brake brackets and used calipers from a monty. Made my own t-case e-brake.

America's first fourwheel drive was built in Mankato, MN by Ernest Rosenburger in 1908 who founded Four-Traction Auto Co. on Hickory Street. The company though successful closed in 1913.

Think about what the FRORF kit gives you before you compare apples to oranges. It not only solves inadequate braking, it solves inadequate axles. And it does so in a bulletproof manner. Want e-brake? Use the Supra calipers and have the kit made for them.

None of the other kits you mentioned are made to the same level of precision nor engineering. Certainly not Sky.

What if you dont need an orange? I dont need stronger axles, rear disc will be supior to the non working drums and the non working E brake. I have 29" BFG tires and she does light off road driving, heavy raod driving. I need Apples!
Im surprised at the amount of hard core off roaders that do not see the danger in a tranfer case or drive shaft brake. If your drive shaft, U joint, rear or axles brake there is no provision for bailing out and keeping the truck locked up on 4 tires. I remember when HumVees first came out in the Army, they have disc brakes mounted up on the rear half shafts. If you broke an Axle (you could keep going) and hit the brakes at high speed, the truck would spin like you were working a steering brake. Often fliping over.
