I have a second gen rodeoport and after alst wheeling trip realized that on my fill ups I am coming in 2 gallons short. THe tank has had a large impression placed on it as well. Im thinking that it dispaced and is keeping gas from getting to the pickup line as well. ANyone else run into this. Im thinking that it is futile to try to fix so I guess I will be stoping for more gas <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

You can fix this pretty easy. I had my tank down for one reason or another (I cut two holes in it on accident) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />, so I cleaned it out good with water and filled it completely up with water then welded the bad places. Afterward I used compressed air to test it. That's some pretty thin metal, my tank popped out on top and bottom. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> It took some doing with a rubber mallet to get it back into shape. I'm going to say it'd be harder to get the dent out of the skid plate then to fix the tank. The tank and skidplate do come apart so that's not an issue. Hey now that you are going to drop the tank down, and seeing as you do have a 3" body lift....... Sounds like the perfect time for a 3" gas tank lift. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> Joe

My gas tank has a rather large dent in it and is a few gallons short too. I am not worreid about it...I wear at as a battle scare just like all the other dents, scrapes, and such. Infact, if you watch the most recent uwharrie video floating around you can see when I hit, the back end jumps a few inches in the air and my licens plate goes from stright up and down to a 45 degree angle instantly. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

Body lift may be coming out in may. With teh axle swap trying to get started <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> It has been sugested that the amount of lift to it with new shoes and all may cause some serious roll issues. Id liek to keep the scares but also I need to be able to amke long trips without worry <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Other note i did take a dent to the pax side door. it is permanent and shall live on.

How far is that from Richmond? On a good day i can be in richmond in about 2 hours so if it is not too far from there maybe i can make it.

If I remember correctly, Gen2 gas tanks are polymer, not metal(*). If you can get the skid off and can remove the dents from it, you might be able to get the tank to pop back out to normal.
(*) - at least a 2Gen amigo tank is polymer. I am assuming that the Rodeo is too.
