Anyone got a part number for the Timing belt set for a 4D56? I think it's time to get that done.

That's actually a good price!

Wish my SR timing belt didn't cost $130

Body Damage is Cool
yea. I would not go with dayco timing belts though. I have seem them break before the mileage interval. OEM mitsubishi and Contitech are VERY good belts. thats part number MD134377 is only for the belt. you will need new pulleys and the hydraulic tensioner aswell. and might as well do the cam/front crank/balance shaft seals at the same time. and also good time to change the water pump. it gets expensive but theres no better of a time to do it. I want to change my timing belt right away too.

I'm pretty sure you can source the timing belt stuff for an old d-50 4D55 diesel. water pump im not sure though. phil can probably verify this if he feels like spending countless hours on CAPS japan. haha

Roll Me Over
I did the timing belt, tensioner, balance shaft belt, tensioner and water pump in a few hours. The 4D55T is a breeze to work on compared to the 3.0 V6! The only trouble I had was that it took me two tries to seal up the thermostat housing without leaking.

I don't know about the 4D56 but the 4D55T timing belt interval is only 50k miles so make sure you don't let it go too long! (I believe it is an interference engine)
